Wedding - Mikaela and Seth - Tying The Knot In Historic Stillwater

As I mentioned in my last wedding blog post, I often get asked by old friends to photograph something for them. I always get super excited when I get to work with an old friend. I feel like the trust between me and the client is already there and we don't have to build it from scratch. This often lets me try some new things and gets the bride or groom (or both) to open to up to me a lot quicker.

Being Comfortable in front of your wedding photographer is one of the most important ways to ensure you're going to get natural looking photos. I hear a lot from brides and grooms that they aren't, "photogenic." It isn't whether or not you are photogenic that is a concern. It's whether you can relax and be yourself in front of the camera.

I met Mikaela, I think, when I was in the 6th grade. We met at Northview Pool one summer. She was a permanent fixture there because she lived across the street. Shortly after that we ended up going to junior high and senior high school together. Who knew fifteen years later we would still be friends and I would be shooting her wedding.

Mikaela got married in Stillwater, MN at the Stillwater Public Library. Awesome wedding venue in a gorgeous town. Her husband Seth is a Veteran of the United States Military and an awesome guy. Huge thanks to Seth for serving our country and a big thanks to the both of you for trusting me to capture your wedding.
